AC switches

US shape switches

UL/CSA or IEC / CCC

(e.g. drills, jigsaw, circular saw)

Model 17-.., 37-.., 47-.., 57-.. have identical dimensions and a similar mounting configuration.
For all four series the triggers, adjusting wheel, reversing levers and lockbuttons are identical.
This implies that the same basic tool with a minnor wiring change or addition can meet various approvals world wide in various ratings.
The differences in the switches are internal, specifically in the electronics and the contact gap.

With a terminal block attached model 57- .. is IEC approved.

Model 47- .. is identical yet without terminal block.
It can meet IEC requirements as part of the tool.
Customer has to make it feasable to IEC requirements with proper tinned stranded wire and terminal block

General remark:

The CAPAX AC Switch Application Guidelines Manual supplies additional technical information for making the optimized selection.

However it is recommended to have the chosen combination approved by CAPAX Engineering Department.

  1. Maximum power is for non-adjustable versions. Adjustable versions may reduce the power.

  2. Amp rating data defined by approval boards. Application has to match the capabilities of the electronics.

  3. The application may very over a wide range, depending on motor and tool characteristics.
